Ancillary Preparation

This is a photo I composed with a mixture of scraps, photos, bank statements etc, items commonly found on a noticeboard. This one is far busier, and full of relevant mise-en-scene. I wanted it to reflect Chris, as an unorganised, obsessive, messy 'psychopath'. The candle reflects his obsession, by creating a shrink-like atmosphere. The coffee stains on the wage slip, show his lack of respect for work or money; it also links to Rosie and Chris' relationship, linked with Chris's lack of money, or ''dirty'' money. I also burnt some of the items, emphasizing his lack of respect as well as emphasizing the distopian world he lives in. The ripped photohraphs show how Rosie is ''torn'' over Chris, their relationship is corrupt. Furthermore, the ash tray adds to the distopian world within the image. This will be our poster, after correct typography has been used.

POSTER DRAFT

This is the first draft of our movie poster; originally planned in order to assess effect. I think the corkboard is effective, however the atmosphere isn't meeting the requirements of the film teaser trailer. I would like to see this in more detail, perhaps with more photograph polaroids, torn and folded as opposed to plain, ''cut and paste'' photographs.

I think we need to emphasize our genre more, the aesthetics lean toward a more positive narrative when in fact we want the audience to assume this film is far more sinister. I also think the pins used, have disrupted the intended atmosphere through use of colour, this element should be scrapped. Again,  similar to the magazine cover, I feel the background is unneccessary, the page would benefit from more colours, but muted, or perhaps inverted into negative to create more interest.
