Our movie poster and magazine front cover must follow the codes and conventions from our research in order to compose the most proffessional outcome. My draft sketches incorporate the required elements; keeping in mind the micro-features we intended.
Here is the first draft of our Magazine Cover, the title is broad and eyecatching, similar to what we've seen in Empire and Total Film, Rosie edited a photo of us to a high standard with appropriate, planned effects. I really like the effect of the broken glass, showing the relationship status between them. To improve, I think the photo could be more dominant on the page, making us less relaible on the black background to create effect. We need to add more writing; we will use the font tests to incorporate more advertisement tags. We will also add more information, including the inside of the magazine in a unique and creative way, at the moment, the reader might avoid purchase of this design, based on the lack of information given. Buyers would be buying on the off-chance.
I much prefer this version, with the addition of photographs, giving insight on the rest of the magazine, this makes it more appealing to the buyer, and something we noticed was common in our research. I think the grainy effect on the main image removes the heavy contrast between the image and the background, as well as pronouncing 'EPIC'. However, I still think the image should be more dominant.
